Ainscough Crane Hire Academy are one of the UK’s leading providers of industrial training. This includes renewable energy training, height safety and rescue training courses along with specialist work at height and rescue training all to meet industry standards

OVERVIEW:

Ainscough needed to create additional training space to meet increasing demand for their popular courses, however they were keen to ensure this space was cost effective and aesthetically matched current buildings.

The building needed to have flexible space and be suitable for varying class sizes dependent on courses offered.

Quality and cost were important of course but the need to find a supplier capable of designing a bespoke unit who could meet the high specification internal and external requirements was paramount.

KEY ISSUES FACED BY CLIENT:

Difficulty in finding a supplier who could meet their exact requirements, work to their specification and not try to sell them a unit already built to be adapted as best they could.

A concern about lack of in-house experience in handling the installation of not only a new building but controlling the extensive groundworks, utilities and landscaping aspects of the project.

The space needed to be flexible and offer the option of easily converting in to one large classroom or two smaller rooms as circumstances dictated.

Toilet and basic catering facilities were required within the building along with a need for plenty of natural light and air conditioning.

Finally the external appearance needed to match existing brick built buildings and look aesthetically pleasing.

WHAT SPRINGFIELD DID:

Identified in discussion with Ainscough their exact requirements, drew and discussed plans for approval which included a sliding partition to enable the space to be split into two classrooms with ease and several options for external and internal finishes.

Created space for toilet facilities and a kitchenette for on-site catering. Included air-conditioning and curtain walling (large glazed areas) to provide a well-lit and comfortable climate for study and externally added a brick slip effect to 2 walls of the unit along with a powder coated aluminium fascia in corporate colours to enhance appearance.

The 3 units were constructed at our Springfield factory then transported to site for installation saving weeks of on-site disruption.

Springfield also took full responsibility and carried out all necessary groundworks, landscaping and utility facilities prior to delivery.

SUMMARY & KEY BENEFITS:

Ainscough took ownership of a unit built exactly to their requirements that provided a brand new training space, met all their demands and provided bright and airy conditions conducive to training. The building matched existing units and provides an attractive unit for the site. It was completed within 4 weeks and handed over on budget and on time with minimum fuss. Ainscough now have a facility that increases their capacity for training courses and an increased income stream.
