"Very helpful - worked hard at the installation in a flexible way to allow the school to continue functioning."
CLIENT DETAILS:
Shavington Primary School is a mixed Community School serving the Shavington village and surrounding areas and is a partner of “The Learning for Life Partnership”. In addition to offering the traditional classes from Reception to Year 6 the school also provides a Maintained Nursery Class and a Before & After School Club.
OVERVIEW:
The space offered by the current school buildings needed re-modelling to suit the changing needs of the school. This clearly presented a problem in that extensive internal & external building work would need to be carried out over a period of time, including during term time. This meant the current classrooms could not be used and would unavailable during the entire construction period. It was decided to seek temporary buildings to accommodate the school activities displaced by the building alterations. It was clearly vital to ensure a safe and secure leaning environment for the children and staff whilst the project was underway.
.KEY ISSUES FACED BY CLIENT:
The temporary building needed to be suitable for purpose and include internal toilet facilities for male & female children. The building also needed to be installed during term time when the children were off-site for obvious safety reasons. The first supplier approached was offering to provide suitable classroom space but with unsatisfactory external temporary toilet facilities.
.
WHAT SPRINGFIELD DID:
Springfield were approached and able to identify suitable classroom buildings within their extensive hire fleet. These buildings had recently been purpose built for a previous hire to a Manchester School which had experienced a similar building disruption. Construction had been completed at the Manchester School and the buildings returned within the flexible terms of the Springfield hire. Three of these units were recommended to Shavington Primary School and met their needs exactly offering all the space they needed and included internal male & female toilet facilities. They were delivered to site during the school summer holiday break upon completion of suitable groundworks and handed over 2 weeks after delivery following installation and connection to all utilities. The buildings will enable the teaching of children in a custom built classroom designed to offer a safe and secure learning environment away from the construction work and ensure minimum disruption to normal school life.
